Twice a Semester, we will host a screening & discussion of a movie that passes the Bechdel-Wallace Test, a way to measure the representation of women in films, television, literature and any other popular fiction.

To pass the test a film must have:

  1. two named female characters,
  2. who talk to each other
  3. about something other than a man.

To kick off this semester, we will be screening The Devil Wears Prada on Wednesday October 2nd, 7-9:30PM at the library with Dr. Emma Fleck facilitating a brief discussion following the screening.

As the film series continues we will continue to be open to collaboration.

If you would like to host one of our screenings, we just ask that you introduce your movie and provide at least three questions to encourage discussion after the showing. Faculty, staff or students are welcome to host.

If you would like to choose a film to show, please contact Alex Glenn, glenn@susqu.edu.
