ECHINOCOCCUS GRANULOSUS LIFE CYCLE

OLSON (1974)

Life Cycle of Echinococcus granulosus. The egg (Fc) is engested by the sheep and emerges as a miracidium (Fk). They then forma hydatid cyst (Fp-s). When the hydatids are ingested by a carnivore, the tapeworm emerges, attaches and matures in the carnivore gut (Fa,t-u).

C17-25: developing hydatid cyst

D: hydatid with invaginated scolex

E: emerging scolex
