CLASS BASIDIOBOLOMYCETES

  • ORDER BASIDIOBOALES
    • Very large nuclei with large amounts of DNA. Parasites of vertebrates.
    • Basidiobolus.

CLASS NEOZYGITOMYCETES

  • ORDER NEOZYGITALES
    • Small numbers of chromosomes (~4). Spores black. All pathogens of aphids and mites.
    • Apterivorax, Neozygites, Thaxterosporium.

CLASS ENTOMOPHTHOROMYCETES

  • ORDER ENTOMOPHTHORALES
    • Variable, mainly parasites of arthropods, but some are parasites of plants, algae, and vertebrates. Spores not black.
    • Ancylistes, Conidiobolus, Macrobiotophthora.
    • Completoria.
    • Batkoa, Entomophaga, Entomophthora, Eryniopsis, Massospora.
    • Erynia, Eryniopsis, Furia, Orthomyces, Pandora, Strongwellsea, Zoophthora.
    • Meristacrum, Tabanomyces.
