A LASTING LEGACY

The growth of the second wave of feminism at Susquehanna University helped female students make many changes that would benefit future students. There were, however, certain topics that were not present during this time period. For example, feminism’s connections to race and LGBTQ issues were not closely explored, and they would have to wait until later years to receive attention. Nevertheless, organizations like AWS helped introduce the idea of women’s rights to campus. The yearbook pictures of AWS members below help give faces to the members of this organization and reveal AWS’ consistent presence on campus over the years.
