While our building is currently closed, Blough-Weis Library will continue to serve patrons by providing online access to important digital materials, assisting with research, and supporting faculty and students transitioning to online instruction. All of the digital collections will still be available to access, and the library staff and librarians are available to assist with any questions, requests or concerns you may have. You can contact us through the Library Chat, you can schedule an online meeting with a librarian or contact your department’s liaison librarian today.

Building Hours

As of Wednesday, March 18th, the library building is closed to all patrons.

Online Research Support

Library Chat Service

  • Monday – Thursday 9am – 9pm
  • Friday 9am – 4:30pm

Starting March 23rd, you can get immediate assistance from librarians through our chat service for any research needs. You can find the chat tab in the right margin of all library pages or you can access the chat directly through this link: http://library.susqu.edu/ask

Virtual Meetings with Librarians

All faculty, staff and students can schedule virtual meetings with librarians directly at this link: http://susqu.libcal.com/appointments/

Library’s Digital Collections

Our extensive collection of online resources is still available to access from off campus. Make sure you access these resources through the library’s website at library.susqu.edu. When you click on a resource, you’ll be prompted to submit your Susquehanna username and password to obtain access.

What you should see when accessing a database off-campus

Our research guides organize library resources by subject to help you find appropriate materials on for your specific research. If you know the database you want to access, go directly to our A-Z Database List, or you can use the library’s Search Everything tool to search for journal articles, e-books, newspaper articles and other types of electronic materials. As always, if you need any help, contact us.

Interlibrary Loan

You can request online articles and book chapters through Interlibrary Loan (ILL). We have discontinued ILL services for books and other physical items. While most other libraries will not lend an entire e-book, we can request individual book chapters for you. We will provide this service as long as we can, but we’re depending on other libraries.

Renewing Materials

If you currently have books checked out, you can renew those materials online by clicking here. From there, click My Loans and you should see which books are able to be renewed. If you are unable to renew materials, please contact the library at circulation@susqu.edu and we will update it for you. There will be no late fees while campus is closed to students.

Thank you for continuing to utilize Blough-Weis Library services and resources. We will do our best provide adequate support for all your instruction and research needs.
