Prague
Because of its innumerable characteristic steeples, Prague is called the “City of a Hundred Spires” and is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Prague is a perfect example of the steady development of a society that recently transitioned from its communist past. It is a metropolitan crossroads of art, business, and politics in the heart of Central Europe.

Brno
The Czech Republic’s “second city,” Brno offers visitors a closer look at daily life as experienced by Czechs. Home to theaters, social justice NGOs, four universities, and one very funky Soviet-era hotel, Brno welcomes travelers seeking a better sense of Moravian rhythms.

Český Krumlov
Yet another UNESCO World Heritage Site, this castle town features sixteenth-century architecture, a renovated Baroque Theater, and cobblestone streets that lead visitors through a delightful, vehicle-free experience.

Dr. Anna Andes (theatre) and Dr. Edward Slavishak (history) lead the program, which includes:

  • Pre-departure online orientation and on-site orientation
  • Airport transfer upon arrival and departure
  • Hotel accommodation for the duration of the program
  • A welcome dinner and a farewell dinner
  • A guided city tour of Prague
  • A workshop guided by a Czech theatre designer
  • A circus workshop
  • A dance performance and interactive lecture
  • A lecture with a direct participant of the Velvet Revolution
  • A two-night overnight trip to Brno
  • A two-night excursion to Český Krumlov to tour a theatre and visit breathtaking castles
  • CIEE program assistant to accompany the group
