Holocaust Denial Websites

The Internet is the most effective way to communicate ideas regarding Holocaust denial. People all around the world deny the Holocaust, whether it  is the whole event or parts of it, for different reasons. Generally, those that deny the Holocaust agree that the methods of killing Jews and the total number of deaths were fabricated. Holocaust denial is represented on the Internet through two mediums, amateur and “expert.” Specifically, amateur websites voice strong, biased opinions, while recycling the information from more academically based arguments. “Expert” websites on Holocaust denial support their arguments with research and analysis from their field of study.

The following videos exemplify Holocaust denial by both “experts” and amateurs.  Each video speaks to the distinct characteristics of each groups’ method of presenting denial.

  • Expert discussion on Holocaust denial

  • Amateur discussion in Holocaust denial

Why do people deny the Holocaust?

  1. There are few documents and photographs regarding the Holocaust
  2. There are no autopsy reports or bodies from Nazi gassing victims

3. Discrepancies in the usage of chemicals in the gas chambers

4. Furthering antisemitism

5. Inconsistent number of deaths

Although a student studying the Holocaust in depth would be attuned to the lack of truth behind denial websites, a person that is unfamiliar with the topic could be easily swayed by the amount of information presented through either amateur or “expert” websites. It is important to note that the amateur websites not only reuse ideas from “experts” but also present the argument in a more thrilling and easier-to-follow manner.
