For my remix project, I created a compilation video to educate people on African-American hair. I initial only wanted to use clips from television shows and movies with predominantly black casts or at least the main focus being the black experience. However, my resources to gather the clips I needed were not plentiful, so I decided to branch out and add YouTube videos to fill in for what I was not able to find. All in all, I’m very proud of my remix and hope that those who view it will enjoy, as well as think about the stigma behind certain textures of hair. My goal is for this to start a conversation or dialogue that will eventually bring more attention to the stereotypes around black hair the challenges African-Americans must overcome because of that.
